What is SMA?
SMA (Spectrum Authority) is Jamaica's telecommunications regulatory agency. Products that emit radio frequencies and/or connect to the telephone network require type approval and certification before they can be commercialized in Jamaica.

Standard We Test To
1. Normally, a product sample is required when applying for approval in Jamaica. Huatongwei will assist in importing samples to Jamaica. Technical documents will also be reviewed and verified during the approval process.
2. Jamaica does not require a local representative or specific label.
3. Relevant SMA product test standards can be issued instructions for us to verify!

Q: How much does TAR certification cost?
The certification fee is determined by the test and follow-up costs, and the company needs to send the wireless product manual to us to verify the quotation!
Note: Telecommunications Law (2000): Allocate spectrum for various services and define licensing and compliance procedures for the use of spectrum in Jamaica.
For products that do not require SMA approval, the regulatory agency will provide a No Homologation letter to avoid any customs issues.
The samples should be provided safely with standard shipping status. Please provide the samples with sterile barrier packaging if the product is planned to sell under sterile conditions.
